Anton Lévy was born in Miami, Florida in 1977. At the age of 9, his parents moved the family back to their native Haiti. Anton lived in Haiti through high-school. These years in Haiti allowed him to become fluent in French and Haitian Creole, in addition to already being fluent in English.
After high-school, Anton moved back to the United States to attend Florida State University, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems (M.I.S.). In early 2000, he began as a junior software developer at Micro Software Services in Miami, Florida. He would excel and was quickly promoted to team leader, and soon thereafter promoted to product Manager. Anton remains product manager of some of the company’s leading software offerings (now Descartes Systems Group). Anton would also go on to receive his Master’s degree in M.I.S. from Florida International University.
Anton returns to Haiti regularly, where he serves as a consultant to Université Caraïbe in Port-au-Prince, providing web development and software development for the in-house university administration applications and for all other information-system matters.
The University’s main campus was destroyed during the earthquake of January 12, 2010. In the aftermath of this devastation, Anton founded, along with his sisters, the CUC Haitian Education Foundation to help rebuild the university and help provide education in Haiti. He hopes his decade of experience in Information Systems will be of great value as the nation of Haiti looks to rebuild.
